Commissioned Pendant 4 of 5 (Christmas gifts 2015)

I made this fourth piece with the same concept as I did the previous piece. This piece of concrete was very large and had no flat surfaces. I decided that I wanted to make it simple. One of my client's requests was for one of the pieces to have mixed metals. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do that. I created a  copper tab and soldered it to the very edge of my base. I cut bezel to only go around 3 sides of the base and rounded of the edges. I pushed in the sides in order to secure the concrete in place, but the tab does all of the work. I wanted this piece to be laying down, but I was running out of time and the bails weren't working like I wanted them to. In the end I decided to just solder the bail and let it sit as you see in the photo.

It looks like a clutch purse to me. ^_^ My client really liked this and thought it was really cool to see a piece that had mixed metals. This is the largest piece that I made because of the size of the concrete, but I made it in such a way that the pendant itself was not much larger than the piece of concrete itself. I didn't have trouble with this at all and this was also not the initial plan in the design.
